We took him to the vet today, and he has major kidney failure. We only feed him Iams dry food, which is not on the list of bad foods-- The vet thinks that it's possibly a tumor on his kidneys.. this is the fourth cat we've lost in 5 years, and our (my wife's and my) first 'child' of our marriage in 2002 -- we have now lost both my parents cats, and our youngest got hit a month or so ago... shortly, we will not have any cats at all... He was 5 years old in Feb... Here he is at 12 weeks, back in 2002 http://www.wnc.bcca.org/tim/nuri/ These are all of the other pets except for Trini, the cat who got hit. All are dead now except for Ravi, the little dog. http://www.wnc.bcca.org/tim/pets.html The picture of Nuri at the bottom is when he met our son Joshua (who we had JUST brought home- Joshua's about 3 days old in that picture) This will be the fewest number of pets that have lived at this address in 45 years--- we've never had less than three, and sometimes as many as 7. Now we'll have one.... until a couple new kittens come along..

So sorry to hear that. It is sad when we have to let a pet go. Read on: Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. I'm really sorry to hear this, sirlame...my deepest condolences. You can take comfort that you did all you could for him and gave him a wonderful life. He'll be waiting for you on "the other side". I know he'll be terribly missed.

Sorry to hear about your kitty. We lost two this year with the same problem and we only fed them Iams too.

I've been staying away from this because it saddens me too much. I have to tell you tho sirlamre, It's so hard to do this but you are doing this out of love and not wanting kitty to suffer. That shows the deepest love of all..........................

And, it is done... Nuri is no more--- We put him down on Thursday, after the bloodwork showed no significant gains after three days of IV fluids. Nuri is the orange cat- Trini is the gray and white. Trini was hit by a car two months ago. They are within seconds of play-attacking each other and rolling around playing on the bed, and then chasing each other around the house...
