on the way to visiting my mother for Mother's Day, we found they have the farm animals in a petting area behind the market.  These were no ordinary animals, at least none like I have ever seen before.

There was a cow, donkey, pygmy goats, a regular sized goat, and lambs.  The cow was amazing...she came over and wanted me to pet and scratch her, and she licked (kissed) my arm with her tongue.  Ever heard of a friendly cow?

To my further amazement, one of the pygmy goats came over, let me scratch his head, and licked my arm too! I had previously thought goats were supposed to be nasty, belligerent and cantankerous. I pulled grass that was growing outside of the fenced in area to feed these animals, which they really enjoyed.

We did manage to buy some fruit and veggies and plants (veggies and flowers) at the market too.  I can't wait to go back to the market again, but not for the fruit and veggies! ::chuckle:: My husband thinks I've entered my second childhood. :bigwink:  I can't help that I love animals!

I have heard of friendly cows, some of them can be very loving!! Especially

if you're the one feeding and milking them!

Goats can be, too, except for those nasty old billys!!  :bigwink:

When I was a little kid, even though we had lots of our own horses,

I always wanted to drag my mom over to the pony rides and go on

them when they had them anywhere. Don't know what it is but

when you're a kid (of whatever size or age!!) that's just what you

do!!

They also LOVE salt.   like me!

I was carrying a tomato plant and the larger goat tried to jump up on the fence to reach it. ::chuckle::  I had to buy a special yellow tomato plant (low acid) because I am allergic to the regular tomatoes that my husband likes.
