Meet Oscar.

I rescued him and his sister from a mud puddle in the middle of a rainstorm a year ago.  His sister was spunky, but he was obviously the runt of the litter and was malnourished and in pretty bad shape.  He was a tiny little thing.  Took the kittens to the vet and asked what I should do to get little Oscar some extra nutrition.  The vet told me to give him some peanut butter.  I thought that was weird- had no idea cats liked peanut butter.  Oscar did, anyway.  In fact, to this day, he still meows for it if I open the jar to make my daughter a sandwich.

Here he is, just after he started to fill out a little.  Still small, and mostly ears, but looking better- when I found him he could hardly hold his own head up.

Fast-forward a bit.

Now Oscar is huge.  He's almost bigger than the dog!

Here is "The Great Heist".  First he steals Bailey's bone away.  Then Bailey gets another bone, and Oscar goes for that, too!  ::chuckle::

And the peanut butter has lots of protein, as most know.  That's so cool you rescued them!  Nothing will quite tug at your heartstrings like a kitten in a puddle during a rainstorm.  And look at what a beast Oscar turned out to be!  Good job, Rob!!  ::thumbs::  Thanks for sharing those pictures.

Great rescue story - that pic while the cat was still skinny made it. :)

Well....my husband said I could get a cat.......the day AFTER he dies. He does not want one. He said the chinchilla is spoiled enough, I don't need a cat to spoil too.
