That's Great!  Every bit of it is true too.  I don't think I could ever be without a dog.  My two are some of the happiest enjoyment I have for all those reasons you mentioned!  :)

The fact they (cats) won't come when you call them and they are able to act so independently is a measure of their intelligence.

I like dogs but they are complete whores to humans, desperate for attention, basing their whole existence on their masters whim and so needy !  

Dogs make better pets then cats because they are more compliant and needy from a human point of view.

I like rodents, accessible, small, great pets with the required hand taming, they require no real human attention accept being let out to run around for a bit and are nowhere near as needy as a cat or a dog, and they all have different personalities the same as every other animal !

Actually, comparing the intelligence of cats to dogs is about on par with comparing the intelligence of sharks to kangaroos.  I adored my cat for the 13 years I had him, so I wasn't after a "which makes the better pet" debate.  I like 'em both just fine.  I just understand dogs better.

Dogs are so loyal and want to please and accommodate us so much because, unlike cats who have the mental deficiency of being too self-absorbed, dogs are instinctively wise enough to know that if something big goes down making us all desperate for food, the dog lovers will make sure it's those smart, independent, non-compliant meal-sized meowing bitches that get eaten.

By asking the forum you were asking me by default weren't you ? you dribbling malcontent ? ::sgrin::

Dogs are more loyal to humans but cats are probably smarter.

The fact you "understand dogs better" probably means you are more gullible and more easily manipulated (heres a bone now suck my ****) as opposed to a cat who is more discerning about the company it keeps.
