to feed to the squirrels.  They looked hungry and like they wanted to store some food before hibernating for the winter. We feed them and the birds.  Feeding the squirrels their own peanuts in a wildlife feeder has kept them away from the bird food all these years we've been feeding them.

We're all stocked up on wild bird food for a while as well. We have different kinds of bird food which attracts different varieties of birds to our backyard. We also have a birdhouse which is cat-proof and some little gray throated warblers use it for a nest every summer. They're only about 2 inches long and so cute! :)

Do any of you feed the wild birds and/or squirrels?

I feed the birds but shoot the squirrels with my pellet gun. When I redid my breezway and got in the roof I found some bare wires that they had chewed through. The cats take care of the chipmunks. Some birds are really cool to look at and I am not a great bird guy but if the seed is out they will come. Lately I have seen more bald eagles and falcons flying around the eagles hang out by the river but the falcons like to sit on the poles I have around the pool. They grab the chick-a-dees I also have plenty of Cardinals and in the summer the humming birds love the neighbors lilacs. So I guess I am an amatuer bird person. I have a few birdfeeders outside my kitchen window that really give a close-up view and I have about 5 feeders in the yard.
