I know this probably will sound pretty lame, but I miss my Guinea Pig, Scooter.  He died January 4th 2005.  He had been sick for several weeks, and I had to give him alot of care, including mashing up his food, mixing it with some water, to make an oatmeal consistency mush, and feeding him with a syringe.   He had started out with teeth problems, not unusual in little critters like him.

Anyway, he started going down hill after Christmas of 2004, and never turned back.  He died on the evening of January 4th, in my husband's lap.  I had held him for a while, but was crying so much, Rick took him from me till he passed.

I know many see little furlings as "disposable" or critters you can't get attached to. But I got really attached to the little guy. When I held him he'd climb up onto my shoulder, snuggle into the crook of my neck and fall asleep.  Or just snuggle into my lap, if I had my fuzzy blanket.   He loved having his chin scratched.

Well, now you know the real me...sad over the loss of a guinea pig.

Thanks, ladies

There is an interesting story behind the box he is sitting in.  We had it out one day, to go with recycling.  Scooter found it, hopped inside and decided he liked the view from there.  Thus the pillow and the shredded paper.  Believe it or not, I still have the box.  I use it to hold the newspapers I keep to line Trixie's cage.

Awww!  The poor little guy.  He's adorable, Marie.  I can see why you miss him...I would too if he were one of my fur babies.

Frank will volunteer to be your new guinea pig.

He likes small places with lots of little bits of newspaper.

Last I heard, he was good at drinking from small bottles held over his head, too...

That being said, and hoping Frank will notice

I know how you feel... both our cats died within a month or two of each other. we still miss them, but won't get more now until the babies are a little older.

Armed with the power of Thy name nothing can ever hurt me, and with Thy love in my heart all the world's afflictions can in no wise alarm me.

Aww Marie he was a lovely little piggy!

Your missing him all this time is not unusual at all. There is always one animal that sticks with you more than others and this happens to be your lil piggy.

I still miss one of my dwarf hamsters, Mad Zelda. Out of 11 hamsters in a year, this one's antics and attachement to me is what makes me miss her the most.

Big hugs to you
