Woohoo,, just got the call.. Our new little Daughter was born Friday night. She is a beautiful Texas Red Doberman Pinscher. (large boned) Pictures should be ready in a day or so..
her name on papers will be Shirasava Katana (keeping in with the sword names of her family)

Her call name will be Shira

One of the requirements of the agreement with the breeder is her ears must be done. Tail is done before we get her. I thought long and hard about it, and know the breeder reasons, so I have agreed with him to do it. Everyone has a choice in this, and I have made mine, please respect my decision. Thank you>

So Tk,, seems as if I will be able to get some use out of your webpages,, Thank you..

Hope everyone has a great day.. I know  I am..

Great news!
Now Just to let everyone know that TK Pet Pros is going thru a difficult time today.

The forum database crashed and a restore brought the WHOLE site back to January.
The main info pages can be recoverd back to today's content easily enough, but I am fretting the forums!

Good thing I saved all the members email addy's!
I am hoping someone can restore me soon. I'm in a sit and wait period at the moment.

Cross your fingers for me will you all?

Hey Goon.  Get back to me on this when you actually HAVE pictures, ya big tease.

Congrats on the new addition to the family!

And may I ask why the breeders rules are to have the ears done?  I know you will take good care of this dog regardless, and I am just curious about that.  Love and hugs,  Big Guy!

It is a family thing. His parents started breeding during his early childhood. Mike is a strong believer in the "look" of the traditional doberman. He has worked hard as his parents have to keep his breeding lines clean, and the owners of the animals not to have them as only breeding machines, but as family additions. He has never placed an ad in any paper or on any site to sell his pups. He has always hand picked the owners. He feels if you want the floppy eared dobe,, to just go get a coon hound.. On the male (daddy) he can show the blood line for the past 11 generations. On the female he can go back 5 generations. He really cares about the line. I have a choice, I can get a dobe from someplace else and have choice on the ears,, or I can get the one from a breeder that is NOT no puppy farm, and follow his wishes. She went today to get her tail and dew claws done. The vet tried to talk him out of our Shira. Mike told him that one has a home. The vet (specializes in dobermans) said it was the most beautiful red female he had ever seen. He had offered as much as it would cost me for the entire litter of 10 to have her. When she got home, she learned she has a voice and was yapping at Mom.. She's tired of being pushed away from the feedings.. Mike says she has a comical attitude.. (would you expect anything else for me then a dobie with an attitude.. LMAO)

So bottom line, my belief is if he cares that much about his blood line, and his animals, I will follow his wishes. As we did when we choose the name. His blood line has always been named after different swords. We looked for months before we decided on Shirasava Katana (paper name) and Shira (she-ra). When Sue told him the name, he was very quiet for minutes, finally responded, that was Wilkersons (the daddy) Great Grandmother's name (Katana) They called her katie, and was his Grandmothers dobie that he grew up with.
The line has great grand champions in show in the blood line.
So I hope you understand why on both sides we have chosen to agree to the terms.
Love ya girl.

I totally understand about why you chose to go this way, Goon.  It sounds like you really did your homework on this breeder, which is something that most people lack in their research.  Even some breeders can get puppy mill stock past them.

This breeder seems to really know the "game" and I am impressed with how he can trace so many generations back.  Not enough people, breeders included, show this much dedication to the bloodlines.  One more question for ya:  If he doesn't advertise his litters, how did you come across him?

He has a business selling "Dock boxes" Which are the fiberglass boxes for storage they use on the boat docks. He sells them to Sue's company. He seen the way Sue treats the owners Lab (TC) that had back surgery, and the way TC responds to her. They had spoken and he found out that She had Dobies in the past, and that I had before as well. He has seen Tazz and with seeing how we take care and love our animals, he knew we would fit into his family. TC comes out and stays with us anytime the owner goes out of town. He had back surgery last year and he does well when he comes out to the farm (as the owner calls it) and stays a week or so with us. We get him out and play, run in the yard, play with Tazzy.. They live in a very uptight High $$$$ community. He has a 20X50 yard to play in there.
He is a funny damn dog,, He gets pissed off at his Mom, (she takes him back and forth to work < spends time at the shop daily>) and to piss her off, if he hasn't visited "the farm" as he wants, he relieves himself in her denali (Did I mention it was a new one?) he did the old one too. But generally within a few releases, he gets a visit to us for a long weekend atleast... LMAO

Picture of the puppys at 1 week old Attached. Ours is the only red one. That is Shira. There maybe another coming home with us... Were waiting for the breeder's choice on what he is taking of the 3 males. There is a blue, a fawn, and a black/tan. The black tan has a white spot on his chest, All of the puppies looked great. No way to tell who/if there was a runt. Thier eyes were just trying to start to open. Was a great day, the trip over to the breeders took us 4 hours driving each way, but well worth it. Might go back in 2 weeks for an updated visit. The mother and Father were spectacular looking. The Dad was a beautiful red, went about 110#s, the female was around 85#s Black and tan, with normal Mom attitude. The Dad was very friendly with us, however another couple showed up to visit, and he was not happy with them at all. The breeder didn't let them as close to him, or the puppies.. We left during their interview.. I have a feeling that they didn't get a choice... Just my guy check..

More photos to come later as they grow...

 I was the proud parent of brother and sister dobbie's many years ago. Best dogs I ever had, she was chocolate and he was the regular coloring.

The were the best babysitters I ever had. We could let the kids play outside without out any fears of them wandering off or being hurt. They stood guard perfectly, everyone loved them and they were very good with the kids in the neighborhood. Had one of the safest blocks in the neighborhood for kids to play.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up worn out screaming what a ride..

Back in the day when I used to mess with Dobie's, I had gotten one for my Mom and Dad for their house. (they had been robbed twice) Sissy, was a texas red (like Shira is) and she was great. 3 years old and my kids (at the time were 1 1/2, and 2 1/2 year old) they could pull her ears, her jowls,, anything they wanted, and she would never flinch. She would let them lay all over her. She loved kids. Now let an adult do any of that.. And it was on.. Or even raise your voice to the kids,, she was in your face about it..

Happy to hear you also enjoyed yours.. True breeds, proper training, and they are lovely family members.

Smooth,, Nope they are the same size. What seperates them is sorta inside of the breed. The Texas Red Dobes are "generally" the largest.  A standard size Sire would be in the 75-90 lb size. In a texas Red a standard male will run 110-145 lb size. A standard bitch will be someplace in the 50-70 lb, but in a texas Red 70 - 90 lb is normal. With the looks of Shira, I'am guessing she is going to top out at 80-90 (or a tad larger) by her birth size.  They did have one fawn male that I could see going 130+. He was a HUGE puppy for 1 week old.

I may have another suprise. The breeder has 2 males I really, really liked (the red female comes home with me as she is the exact look alike of the Sire.) but there is a blue male, and one black/tan with a white spot on the chest (very rare but allowable if not over 1 1/2" within AKC guidelines) The blues and fawns take a bit more care cause of skin problems, but are great looking dogs. The blue male is the one at the bottom of the photo.

Should know the first of the week soon as the breeder makes his personal choice of keeps. There is one other male, but I felt he was going to be a bit smaller (probably 90-100 lbs) And the colors were not quite in the proper places.

Shira if she shows in confirmation well enough, I may place in some shows and see just how she does,, If she does well,, I may go ahead and spend the money on a proper handler and see if I can get her to a champion level. There is in the blood line a couple of grand champions. So the level is there...
I'm going to attach a picture of the Sire, and his Mother along with the breeder on to this post.
