Just a couple pictures of me having some of the most fun a person can have in winter in Michigan.  The fishing picture was taken about 10 miles from my house on the canals off of Jefferson Avenue.  The picture by the fire is in Mio, Michigan; one of the deer hunting camps we use.

While I don't remember the thickness of the ice, (this picture was taken 8 or 9 years ago) we do take precautions when stepping out.  The guy I was fishing with went out first, and he was about 210 pounds.  Other people fishing would let us know where it was safe to get on, we know the canals well, and watched weather reports closely.  If youre going in, there is little warning, but someone is close by always.

I went through the ice once.  Not an experience I care to have again.  It's a tough lesson and one you never forget.

The above Rainbow trout is one of my bigger fish that I caught on 2lb test. It took about 45 minutes to land. After pics were taken, it took about 10 mins for the fish to get it's strength back, I let it go to grow bigger and smarter. :D

Thanks, I am into the sport side of fishing, I usually let 98% of the fish go.  A few PPL thought that i should have had it mounted but i want one over 20 lbs before it gets stuck on the wall. Besides anything that comes from Lake Ontario, I'd let them go

I should carry a black light with me, if it glows it goes.... lol

There are taxedermists that do everything out of fiberglass now, so all they need is the picture of the fish.

You can have the fish on the wall, and it can swim too.
