Chicago Cubs
44-43, 2nd place, 4 1/2 games behind Milwaukee
What’s gone right:
Carlos Zambrano is a man on a mission ... for a free-agent contract at Barry Zito-type money. It doesn’t get much more dangerous than Alfonso Soriano, Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez in the heart of the lineup. Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis are proving the skeptics wrong.
What’s gone wrong: With Cliff Floyd missing too much time and Matt Murton struggling, outfield production isn’t what it should be. Michael Barrett couldn’t get along with the staff, but his bat is missed, as his replacements aren’t hitting enough.
Player to watch: Lee needs to turn on the power (seven home runs) to match a batting average that has him near the top of the NL.
Rumor central: They are trying to trade Jacque Jones, and could use another catcher. They can outspend the Brewers, and should do so with a chance to get to the playoffs in a weak league.
Predicted finish: 1st place::rockon::

I certainly don't want Milwaukee to win, so I'll back you up. Go Cubs!

Cubbies are up for sale, along with Wrigley Field.  right now, they are a package deal from Tribune Corp, but they are willing to split up the pair to make the sale.  How sickening would that be?  the CUBS not playing at Wrigley anymore?

there are several interested buyers, including Mark Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks(NBA) owner.

that would be an interesting move.  just looking at what he has spent and done to get the Mavs where they are today.

the deal would be worth an estimated $1 billion.  yes, with a "B"

I knew the Cubs would be no problem, they never got more than 3 runs off us in the regular season. Well, the Dodgers have improved since then and the Cubs haven't. On to the NLCS, the Phillies will be a different story, they can hit off us when no one else can. If we can get past them, I feel the WS is ours!
