Well that would be the fatal frame series, cause it's based on japan folklore and legends and it's not what you see that will scare you but what you can't see till it's in your face Unlike many horror games where you have a huge amount of weapons and items to fight with in this series you have a camera that can see and defeat ghosts that haunt a village, a mansion and a multi leveled manor that's your only weapon, it can be upgraded with powerful lens and features, but mainly you have to use your wit and skill to live Some ghost will help you by leaving hints, but you must figure out what the info they left behind if it's a help to you or not and you will find books, letters, and memos along the way and you can also get photos of ghosts that aren't helpful or harmful Then you have the female characters from twin pre teen sisters stuck in a haunted village to two older females characters trying to make it though a multi leveled manor filled with all sorts of unhappy ghosts who would love to make them part of the manor The storyline in the series is filled with lost loves, death, despair, loneliness,evil and good and the movie clips are grainy black and white and those also give clues about what happened Now silent hill was a good game and so was the RE series but those have nothing on this, plus FF 2 and 3 have very nice theme songs These games aren't for everyone, they are serious mind jobs to say the least There is a fatal frame movie in the works supposed to be ready in 2008 sometime Whenever it comes out i'm seeing it
