Yesterday it rained so much it felt like duck hunting,today it was so windy all I heard was branches breaking and falling everywhere not even a track on the deerpath this A.M......Geez whats a guy gotta do, I guess I will use my last vaca days this week,anyone else get out this weekend?.................

Early this morning saw a buck.it was hard to see,through the swamp bush,I fired with my black powder instantly I realized "why didn't I grease the barrel",dammit miss,the buckbacked away but came back around on my flank 20 min later By then I had reloaded,took another shot-they acted like they never heard it!went back to drink,I reload,take another shot-missed again!damn the wind is screwing me up,I waited 1/2 hr they were gone...............3 shots never hit no blood,no fur it is nice to surprize-em after a stormy weekend now I have to wait till tommorow,well the temps will be in the 60's and they may be up and about towards the sunset the buck had 2 does w/him and he was lookin!......thats all and good luck!

What a nice day!got all fired up,put all my gear in the truck got out of work at 3 headed out to my "spot"..............got aways out and in my pocket I had forgot to take my stupid cell phone off!so I answer it to make it stop......its my sisters sons wife calling to say hi and she thinks she is having the start of contractions and by the way how have you been. By now my feet are almost knee deep in swamp muck so I sit and talk for 15 min in the middle of the woods by the time I got to my spot it was getting dark and I headed back. The moral of the story is, get out in the A.M. before it gets dark and..........shut the cellphone off..................

 NO HUNTING!....................dammit nice day!  high 65deg no wind,............I Love "fall"..........great day fo a walk.look fo poop,smell the breeze,track a path,............bring yer walkin stick. eat teabury leaves. Peace

last day of muzzleloader monday everyear I think I have a jump on things but I always lose saturday will be my day this year,it will be cold this weekend and I can shoot doe or buck I hate stopping and letting a doe go by (especially a healthy one)when only bucks are legal oh well this will be a good year, in the winter they walk around like they own the place!I have seen them walk right up my road...................oops wrong pictcha! My treestand was raped by the construction guys workin on the other side of the mountain they mustof seen deer early in the a.m. and realized it.My faith in my fellow man has been ruptured and turned around .............my barn just became bigger with the addition that will be funded by the 2x6x12 that I found just sitting around on the other side of the mountain............jus gotta get the backhoe fired up and put the forks on.......havn't used them in 3 years never had a reason to o well!  ****DELETE****DELETE****DELETE****Last edited on 03:00 am by librtyhead |

O.K. first day of firearm 11/08/06 1st day of firearm, I get to hunt in Barnstead on private land nothing today.............but I think tommorrow will be promising many missed opps ..........but I have set a few camera traps throughout the summer and am hoping for a nice 6-8 pt.buck this weekend,the ground is wet and I might go out @ 4-5 am and catch the does feeding,the buck may wait until I kill a doe,then after come get him!.......He would still have a couple doe's to protect!........that would be good as I may catch him unaware............I realize in Penn. this may not be succesful as they do not go this way out there!............or so I have heard. Anyone put acorns,leaves in a sock to dry after washing the camoe gear?after the second rinse?.........it gives your underwear a distinct brown color that most people say "those stupid freakin hunters"........at least me anyways!...........black/archery has produced nadda.........next year I will scout better!We shall see.
