There's equipment now? ::chuckle::

Ok but I'm gonna mark it down as a spanking!

I actually still play today...

Seems like everyplace I've worked in IT -- we've had either musicians (my last job, half the company was in the band)...

..or now, some of my technicians play-- our current group is DM'ed by my lead technician (who loves telling ME what to do for 4 hours a month) ..

One of our other players is one of the principals of the high school! -- he's my age (mid 40s) -- and he still plays RuneQuest.

I play an Elven Ranger (being a Baha'i, he is of course lawful good)

I've played a LG Paladin ---

One of the REALLY neat modules I helped write and DM was set in Acre during the Crusades-- it basically refought the siege of Acre in 1191 by King Richard the Lionheart.

The REAAALLY cool thing was that we were playing IN the city of Acre -- and got to play a couple of rounds IN the throneroom of King Richard in the Crusader fortress underneath the present day City.

We also played ( I think - or maybe only talked about it) - the siege of Masada at the Dead Sea --

This was when I spent three years living in Israel, mostly living in Haifa, but spending several weeks living in Acre, Jerusalem, and a couple other places.

Let me tell you --- playing D&D within a few yards of the fortress walls, within sight of REAL battlements, arrowslits, inscriptions in the stones from Crusader and Muslim knights, and Roman guards...

THAT's fun..

Wow, I am so envious!  How cool is that?  Way cool!

I played D&D in high school.  In university, I really got into Fantasy Hero, a much better game than D&D.  I say it is "much better" because your characters had to have an equal amount of deficits to strengths.  This is more realistic, I think, and made for a more balanced and fun game.  I was GM for many of our 72-hour adventures, ha-ha, all of us fueled by Pepsi and youthful vigor.  My character was an elf maiden and mage.  Of course, she was a good lass with a few deadly spells up her sleeve.  Ah, the good ol' days!  I am much too busy as a mommy to play now, of course.  But I salute you all!

So Frank what about this virtual RPG tavern idea ?

I thinks its cool and luckily we have enough sad people like myself to make it work methinks ! :bigwink:

I play the game and have 5 of the most recent D & D source books at hand that I go through pretty regularly (notice I said "source books" not "rulebooks" in open ended roleplay there shouldn't be any "rules" apart from the obvious ones of forum etiquette)

COME ON FRANK !.......

Yeah, we know about your medieval "equipment", Frank.  I told you: You can't use my trebuchet for anything but getting a rancid horse UP in the air!  Geesh, some people and their marital aids.
