Nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The local thrill here seems to be dropping large rocks off overpasses onto cars below. The latest bit of teenage fun left a young woman in a coma. I gave up trying to understand humans a long time ago. Except for me, everyone is just plain weird.

the sex offense of the murder victim was that he had sex with a 14-year-old when he was 17. his murder appears not to be connected to his offense. just a vicious savage obscene act. My question is why him?? If they didn't know about his prior sex offenses why would they select this guy to commit this crime. Just doesn't make sense that it was random there had to be a reason to select Mr. Sorensen don't you think??

sorensen owed one of the bastards some money. i saw his parents completely break down in court when the beheading was described from the stand. those poor people. how do you live when someone does such a thing to your child?  Alex Letkemann DETROIT — One of two teenagers charged in the slaying, burning and beheading of a man was sentenced Wednesday to 20 to 30 years in prison. Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Annette Berry sentenced Alexander Letkemann in the Nov. 7 slaying of Daniel Sorensen, 26. Letkemann, 18, also was sentenced to three to 10 years for mutilation of a corpse. The sentences will run concurrently. He received a stern lecture from Berry, who asked why Letkemann didn't do something to stop his friend, Jean Pierre Orlewicz, from killing Sorensen in a Canton Township garage belonging to Orlewicz' grandfather. "This was a premeditated, calculated act. Nothing short of violent, sadistic pleasure," said Berry, leaning forward toward Letkemann in the Detroit courtroom. "This is what the court doesn't understand. What's missing inside? There's something missing here, fundamentally missing and it's called compassion for human life." He couldn't find a reason for his actions, Letkemann told Berry. Letkemann, of Westland, had pleaded guilty earlier this month to second-degree murder, admitting to helping prepare the garage for the ambush on Sorensen and helping dispose of his body. Letkemann also testified that Orlewicz, 18, of Plymouth Township, slit Sorensen's throat and repeatedly stabbed the man. Orlewicz faces mandatory life in prison after his first-degree murder conviction last week.

i agree with you LH. this murder was related to money, not his teenage sexual indescretion. the teenage killers related how they cut off his head with a saw, and showed absolutely no emotion or remorse...while his parents sat in court and sobbed.

It almost seems the chopping off of heads is becoming more widespread. I feel so very bad for the Parent's...... .........and cannot imagine the pain they are going through.

It may look righteous at first glance, but even I, with my penchant for vigilante justice and my homicidal attitude if someone was to touch my son, killing someone for this is not righteous. Even if it were my son, I would not want this asshat dead. I would want him alive, and given daily doses of the most horrific pain I could dream up. I would also want him scarred right off the bat, so he could see that scar every day for the rest of his miserable, useless life, and think about why he has it. Then torture for the next 40 or 50 years. Daily torture. Just my opinion, of course.

To clarify; anyone who touched my son I would want this justice done to. Consenting people is a different story. A 15 year old and a 17 year old are probably consenting, and I don't see this as a criminal act, either. (Someone noted their confusion about my previous post, so I wanted to be a bit clearer.)

I was referring to anyone who touched my kid without his consent. These little snots who killed this guy deserve the same treatment I spoke of above. And if, as LC says, they showed no remorse, they deserve the worst that can be handed to them.
