my son was stopped at a red light when 3 black guys came at him and put a gun in his face. they got his entire 2-week paycheck and his cell phone. he's so upset about his pay and his phone, and all i can do is thank God they didn't shoot him!  i'm used to this shit, but this is too close to home, i can't stop crying.

no, they weren't caught. and never will be, for this incident anyway. jacksonville is very high crime/high murder rate. they'll kill you for nothing. he's still shaking today, and i am very shaken but grateful he wasn't murdered. it's pretty awful to be a crime victim, i always knew that, but i am about to explode with feelings of i wish i had those bastards in front of me at MY gunpoint.

Like the others, I'm glad this encounter wasn't worse than it was. You can cancel the phone service. The money is more difficult if it's cash. I have no advice about how to calm down from something like this.

yes, he had cashed his entire paycheck, to pay his room-mate the rent. that's gone. i will cancel the phone until we get him a new one. UTR is right, unless i could have instantly blown the guy's brains out, it's nothing but a nice fantasy. it's like my son said to me this afternoon, 'i'm glad i had something to give them'.

Thank God he did have something to give them, no telling what they would have done. AWFUL BUT HE WASN'T HURT AND THAT IS A BLESSING. Did the Bastards see him cash his check?? Bummer.. I get paid on Thursday I can donate to the cause if you would take it LC Christmas present for your son from Auntie Carla..

i know Colin, many thanks! but the money and the phone will be replaced, and my son wasn't shot. that's all that matters as people have said. you know what makes you angry as a citizen, not just as a cop, that people work hard for their money so some lowlife who doesn't want to work can take it away from them.

So glad your son is okay, LC. The other losses are infuriating and distressing, but replaceable. He isn't. When my Romy was mugged in her own north London suburban street by two big black guys she only got hit, they weren't armed, luckily. But the sense of personal violation has stayed with her. Again her money and phone were replaced. The cowardly crims weren't caught of course. ((((((((((((((((((( LC )))))))))))))))))))). Your tears are shock. I had the same reaction.
