First of all, let me say that I'm very happy nothing serious happened to your son.

My cousin has a method for dealing with this exact scenario, which he described to me nearly 15 years ago. He said, "sh#%, I ain't waitin' for them mofos to shoot me, if I see them comin' up on me like that I'm shootin' first! &$^$ that!" And he is a man of his word, and keeps a 45 (among other weapons) at arm's length, and an extra slide for the 45 just in case he has to use it and throw away the slide of the weapon he's just used. This is a real life method of surviving in today's brutal world.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. -Matthew 22:37-39

::huggers::(((((((((((LC))))))))))))

I'm so sorry!  ::rose::

Thank goodness he had something to give them, and his life was spared.  Perhaps it was a blessing that he had already cashed his check, had he not...the outcome may have been very different.

Were they on foot?  Or did he get a license plate #? Can the cell phone be traced?

Though the money is probably gone forever, it would still be nice for these lowlifes to spend Christmas in jail.  ::sly::

Thanks Pam! i remember when that happened. cop or no, a mom feels a kick in the gut when their child is endangered by scumbags.

i cancelled his phone this morning, will have to go buy another, that will have to be his Christmas gift.

Jester, i understand how your cousin feels, but in this case, i'm glad he didn't have a gun, a firefight could have ensued. i tried to interest my son in the police academy a couple years ago, he wasn't interested, mainly because he dislikes guns. best he didn't have one, and gave up the money, as galling as it is.

my son is 6'5", a top athlete, and no wussy, he saved a woman's life once at the risk of his own, she was being strangled while other people watched and did nothing! he was a hero. a live hero.

some sports star was carjacked at gunpoint in atlanta last night, nobody is immune.

SOB!................Thats gotta be some desperate goons to go up to a car and rob a person! I may have tried to run them over or something or smash into their car with mine.............I am glad he is ok and hope he fills out a report. It may not get far but if they end up killing someone and get caught they may be linked to this armed robbery.

      Above all he is alive a bit broke but alive.

i bought my son a new phone yesterday (do you know what new phones cost??? :cash:::shock:: i had to buy it where i have the acct. and extend my contract for 2 years). anyway, he came down here last night, and i got more details. it was a warm night, his window was down, and they put cold steel point-blank to his head. he told me he broke down and cried when it was over, and spent 24 hours shaking all over. i guess until you've had a gun pointed at you (i have ::ladycop::) , you don't realize the terror. he thought his young life was over. my heart is still so thankful. :heartbeat:

I'm have tears in my eye and shaking like a leaf. I can only imagine the fear he felt at that moment. You just never know thank God he is OK, shaken but OK.

On a lighter note what kinda phone did you get him??? :bigwink:

Actually, I have had a gun drawn on me--by the police when I was twelve! I was so terrified I couldn't even form words. Fortunately, my dad was right there with me, and everything was quickly resolved. I hope it never happens again.

The time I was held up, it was at knifepoint which is a little different. That time I wasn't particularly scared. Mainly I was just angry.
