O.J. jail bound over alleged bond violation

O.J. Simpson boarded a 3:30 p.m. flight to Las Vegas from Miami International Airport on Friday for a hearing next week on whether to revoke his bail in an armed robbery case.

A hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday in front of District Judge Jackie Glass. The Clark County district attorney on Friday filed a motion asking that Simpson be sent back to jail until he and two co-defendants go to trial in April.

The reason: Simpson, 60, may have tried to send a message to co-defendant Clarence ''C.J.'' Stewart. The communication may have been a violation of a judge's order to have no contact with victims, witnesses or co-defendants.

District Attorney David Roger said in his motion Simpson tried to ``dissuade a co-defendant from testifying and cooperating with law enforcement.'' witness tampering!

Roger claimed Simpson left the following voicemail on his bail bondsman's telephone, asking him to pass it along to Stewart:

``Hey, Miguel, it's me. I just want, want C.J. to know that the whole thing all the time he was telling me that s--, you know, I hope he was telling me the truth. Don't be trying to change the mother f-- s-- now, mother f-- a--. I'm tired of this s--. Fed up with mother f-- changing what they told me. All right?'' :shock: :D

Simpson will be held in custody until Wednesday's hearing to determine the status of his bail.

Simpson, who lives in Kendall, has been out on $125,000 bail since Sept. 19, three days after he was charged in connection with a confrontation at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. He and several other men were accused of storming into the hotel room and stealing hundreds of items from two sports-memorabilia dealers.

Simpson has maintained that he was retrieving items that belonged to him. He, Stewart and Charles Erhlich of Sunny Isles Beach face trial April 7 in Las Vegas. They could receive decades in prison if convicted on the 12 charges.

Two bondsmen were seen escorting Simpson onto the American Airlines flight, scheduled to land in Las Vegas at 9 p.m. Eastern time.

A bail bondsman at You Ring We Spring bail bonds in North Las Vegas declined to comment when contacted by The Miami Herald Friday.

An assistant for Miami attorney Yale Galanter, who is representing Simpson, said the lawyer was on his way to Las Vegas to meet with his client.
