I cringe using the word "Brotherhood" in relation to any gang, but this is how they are known, even if they really don't understand what true Brotherhood is about. Born in Folsom prison in the early 70's, this gang is one of the widest-known groups of violent, psychotic, twisted, disturbed whackjobs inside the walls of prisons. Their "code" is blood in, blood out. Which means in order to gain entrance, you must kill and there is no getting out. You are part of this gang for the rest of your life, or they may just kill you if you try to give up that life. Some of those who wanted in are also well-known. Charles Manson wanted in when he was transferred to a facility where the AB was rampant. His crime of killing a pregnant Sharon Tate kept him out. In the AB, you don't kill children. Gee, isn't that nice of 'em? They used Manson's visitors - most of them women - to smuggle contraband into the prison. John Gotti was protected by the AB for some of his time inside, until he quit paying for that protection. The AB used a black man to attack Gotti in the yard and after this attack, Gotti asked to get back in, reinstate his payments for protection, and have the man who attacked him killed. Gotti died of throat cancer before anything happened, and according to some inside the AB, they had no plans to hit the black man. Their marks and ink are like red flags. 2 lightning bolts is a mark that can be earned early. Make those bolts "flattops" and it is a sign of loyalty to the gang. It's rather ironic to me that if you take those 2 flattops and cross them at the center, they are a swastika. A shamrock with the number 6 in each of the three leaves is another sign. A spiderweb tattoo over an elbow is significant of killing a black man. Tattoos on the neck above the collar are almost always gang-related; be it the AB, the Latin Counts, the Crypts, etc. These "people" worship Hitler and his views of one supreme race. I highly doubt that a single one of them is truly educated on Hitler's history. Having him as some sort of demi-god would give me pause anyway. To agree with what he did and live your life that way makes me think they all need to be in a padded cell. They have a complex coding system to write messages to other inmates and members on the outside. It took a long time for the LE folks to break that code and I can't begin to describe it, but a letter written that seemed to be congratulating a man on the birth of his child was in fact a message to take a certain black gang to war and kill them all. Don't confuse the AB with skinheads. The two groups are not the same. The AB is much more organized, and much more ruthless and lethal. Inside one of the highest security prisons in the nation, a man attacked a guard for taking his drawing pencils, stabbed him 37 times and killed him. That same day, another AB member attacked 3 guards, killed one and put the other 2 in the hospital. When asked why he had attacked the guards, he said he didn't want the other AB member having a higher body count than he did. Let's just say that the time these guys spend inside doesn't help them see the light and make them want to walk the straight and narrow. Prison is their home, and the vast majority of them, if they ever see freedom again, end up right back inside.

we had to study gang tats, the book was huge. and the tats are photographed for future reference. many are AB wannabes, and i cannot tell you how much i loathe and despise swastikas all over their bodies.

If anyone, anyone can convence me that name they take "Brotherhood" is a real meaning of any true Brotherhood I will kiss your butt in the town hall! I will also give you 3 weeks to seel tickets to the butt kissin' and pay for the advertisment to buy tickets. AB............total bunch of waste of lives..........I think. Sorry if I Hi-jacked your thread..............My rant is over now

The whole idea of people walking around looking for someone to kill just to belong to a gang is scary as hell!! Just in our little Norman Rockwell town two summers ago, a 50 year old man was walking down Main street and a young wannabe walked up to him and stabbed him in the face!! In the face no less!! What do we have to do start packing our guns just to go to Safeway to shop for groceries?

One always reads "hate breeds hate" and I agree. People are not born hating..they learn who to hate. And there is never a valid reason why they hate. This may seem lame, but I remember an episode of Grey's Anatomy a few weeks back. A paramedic was seriously injured when his bus was hit by another, while at the hospital. At first he refused help from the black female doctor, saying he wanted a man. So she got the chief of surgery...happened to be a black man. The injured guy said NO...finally saying he did not want a black dr. working on him. The female dr said  ..but not in so many words. She then smirked and said, I will get you another dr. Came back with an Asian,He finally agreed to the surgery...and when his gown was moved away, there was a large zwastika tatooed on his abdomen. Right where she had to cut him open. When she sewed him up, she altered the tat so it just looked kind of like a + Life's a bitch...then you have to go and piss of the doctor trying to save your worthless life.

UTR I'm curious as to how your husband stays safe if he has to be around these thugs. Is there a way keep to yourself while doing your time and not be harrassed by these Assholes?

And while there are a lot of skinheads in the facility Bullet is in, there are very few AB, and none on his rock. The few that are there are in a different block and most of them are STG'ed. Very restricted contact with other people, including other inmates.
