I think this is a common misconception: Sodium pentathol and other such drugs aren't "truth serums", per se. They make a person more willing to talk, and they bring the person's guard down, but they don't necessarily lead to "the truth", because they also make it easier for the questioner to coax out of the subject the answer that they want to hear.
Basically, I think all interrogations should be videotaped -- no exceptions. This way, the pressure applied to the subject is a matter for the jury to decide.
