Brittany Carrigg

Authorities in Georgia on Friday resumed the search for a 17-year-old girl missing since she went for a walk Wednesday night.

Officials are searching a 5-mile radius in Haralson County for Brittany Carrigg, who left her family home in Bremen, Ga., around 10 p.m. Wednesday to go for a walk, MyFOXAtlanta.com reported.

Crews were urged to mark where any wells are located. Operations chief John Entrekin said 50 to 75 people are involved in the search, which could be affected by strong winds.

Carrigg, a junior at Haralson County High School, last was seen wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and tennis shoes. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Haralson County Sheriff's Department.

i'm glad to report a good result!

Missing Georgia high school student Brittany Carrigg was found this afternoon walking along a road .

More than 100 people join hunt for 17-year-old last seen walking from home.
"She was taken by the deputy to the sheriff's office," Jim Beck, a spokesman for the Haralson County Sheriff's Office, confirmed to ABC News. "She was found to be physically in good condition, and she was reunited with her family."

Carrigg was reported missing Wednesday night by her parents after she left the house for a walk and failed to return. Authorities had said there was a chance the 17-year-old left with the intention of running away. Beck said authorities believe she spent some of the time since her disappearance with a family friend.

The investigation will continue, he said, and anyone who was knowingly hiding her from authorities during what had grown into an extensive search effort could face some type of charge for harboring her.

"Obviously, there was a lot of money spent on this search," Beck said. "The first thing she said was, 'I don't want anyone to get in trouble,' but the investigators have a job to do."
