Caylee Marie Anthony

ORLANDO, Fla. —  A Florida mother was arrested in connection with the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter, who has been missing since June 9.

Casey Marie Anthony showed no emotion Thursday as she was ordered held without bond at the Orange County Jail, MyFOXOrlando.com reported. She was charged with child neglect and providing false information to law enforcement.

Anthony claimed she dropped off her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, at a friend's house but has since lost contact with the friend. huh??

It was not clear why Anthony never reported the child missing. The girl's grandparents decided to file the report on Tuesday after learning that Anthony's car had been towed from a location that was nowhere near where she claimed to be staying.

"I’ve had the feeling the past couple of weeks that Casey's been holding back," the grandmother told MyFOXOrlando.com. "I’ve been asking to speak with my granddaughter and she’s been making excuses that I can't talk to her because she’s with someone else or she’s swimming or napping."

The Anthonys do not believe their daughter would hurt the girl and are hoping for her safe return.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has seen Caylee to call the crime line at 1-800-423-TIPS.

People who do things like this, don't deserve to live. Thye really don't deserve to die, either, because that would be too easy. But we aren't allowed to torture these beasts. It's too cruel. Bull Sh==. They need to be stretched on the rack for a few days, and then quarterd, one piece at a time, wiht nothing for the pain.

I could not have said it better myself.  Ok listen, I do not mean to make light, but I have forgotten where I put my keys, I sometimes forget what I had for lunch yesterday..but to forget where you left your kid?  Or "lose track" of the person you left her with.

Yeah right.  OK.  Got some swampland here for ya.

oh give me a break! this story gets nuttier and nuttier! so her time in the whacko-cell at jail is difficult? i'll be shocked if the judge lets her out on bond. unless it's to keep her under surveillance.

and grandma says she "has her reasons" for not telling the whole story?? is the whole family insane?

The only way she should get out of prison is in a casket.

i have just been watching the longest, most convoluted, fascinating bond hearing i have ever seen! essentially a mini-trial. waiting for the judge to announce decision.

cadaver dogs hit on the car trunk for one thing. and i don't find grandma very credible.

    Mom a 'Person of Interest'
Police testify that hair samples, decomposition smell found in car used by Casey Anthony, mother of missing 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony |

just in...bond set at half million dollars. she's not yet charged with murder, so florida law says she has to get bond. if her family comes up with that, she is definitely a flight risk in my opinion. but she'd have a GPS.
