I really hope Google prevails in this.  It'll mean (among other things) that phones won't be locked into one carrier and one specific set of software.  I'm sure AT&T is sh*tting bricks over it, though.  What would happen to their cozy little iPhone deal if people could suddenly choose any network they wanted to? 

FWIW:  I have nothing against the AT&T network.  It works fine for me on my phone.  But choosing between a locked phone w/ a 2-year contract and an exorbitantly-priced unlocked phone isn't much of a choice, really.
