I find this story interesting.  There's a company working on a printer that will not only be able to print 3D objects out of plastic and/or metal, but also be able to replicate itself.  That way, if you want to upgrade the computer or fix a design flaw, you can print your own part for the printer.  Pretty interesting stuff!

I bet that's not too far off!  If a printer can print its own part, there's no reason why you can't have the printer update over the Internet, and have that update trigger the printer to make a new part.  Now, the other issue is, will the printer ever be able to install it itself?  ::scratch::
