Hi, Everyone.

This article in the NY Times features a counter-intuitive logic problem.  Here's the set-up:

Let's Make A Deal features a game where the host asks you to pick one door out of 3 to win a prize.  You pick the door, and before the door is opened, he opens another door with a gag prize.  (In the example in the story, it's a goat.)  So now you have two doors:  The door you picked, and the other door.  The host gives you the chance switch doors before the answer is revealed.  So do you switch?

It turns out that your odds are better if you switch.   I've tried it a couple of times, and it's really surprising!

Try it yourself, and read the explanation in the story.  ::thumbs::

Edited to correct the name of the show, with input by Marie. ::nsmile::

Interesting, Brian.  I got the car the one time I did NOT switch.  Out of 3 separate attempts.

BTW..the show was Lets Make A Deal.  People in audience often dressed up in goofy costumes in hopes of being picked to play.

Thanks, Marie.  I edited the post to correct the name of the show!
