I think that if you've ever watched a YouTube video, this should bug you.

Personally, I have no idea whether any of the videos I've watched are owned by Viacom.  I assume a few of them are, but not many.  (I'm not a big fan of Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert.)

But I think the judge made a mistake.  For starters, there's no need to disclose 12 terabyes of data.  If Google is forced to disclose any of its database, it should only turn over that part of the database relating to Viacom's videos.  And why is it important who views the material?  Go after the people who post it, if you're going after any individuals.  Those are the infringers.
