The post on the Open Forum got me to thinking about something that maybe you all here may finally be able to get me answers for. Aint spoke of it much over the years but fact is,this did seem to occur and has some of the similarities of some other sightings. Cannot really get info on it as it was covered up,or so it seems. Brief overview,..and will fill in deatils further as we go along. Flashback to 1960's,appox mid 60's.Local cop scanner indicates some wierd sighting in a place called Wannaque Reseverior(sp?) around the area of Butler,NJ.I was a young boy of about 9 or so.Father was a Cop and in fact whole Family had a history of military and Cops.Mother hears scan and heads out with a female close friend who is a believer of UFO's.Gets there before Cops and see's a huge craft in the distance hovering above water.Tries to get closer and then cames around a turn in the road going around the body of water and see all the authorities who quickly intercept them and turn them around and escort them out,with much frustation and reluctance on their part. Later,...local Cop has a piece in the paper after someone asked him about it and printed it. Then thats it.Nothing more is said except speculation and heresay.No one wants to talk.Even Father keeps his mouth shut.He passed away when I was very young and so that option does not exist to confront him about it.We moved away after his passing.No need to read into us leaving and his passing as related to any of this as it is not the case at all. To this day,My Mom is haunted by this and seeking info about what happened that night.She has NO DOUBT it occured and many others know about it.I have been on sites like MUFON to try to dig up something to document and tell her but usually find zip.Anyone who has ever worked with,or for the Government knows they cannot be trusted to ever tell the truth and will silence any info they choose....yet they cannot always silence everyone. Someone has leaked info or knowledge regardless of their intimidation. Any idea's or tips?

Maybe MrParanormal might be able to dig up some information about this one ? I've had a quick search through the online UFO sighting database I use and come up blank, that doesn't mean it didn't happen though, I have no doubt your mother did witness what she witnessed. In cases like this where authorities get involved at an early stage news blackouts are quite common.

it is my belief that both the British and American military havve been trying to develop flying saucer technology for many decades. It suits them if the general public continue to believe that they are seeing evidence of extraterrestrial life as they want their research to remain secret. Besides the military, other people have tried creating flying saucers also over the last century. It is a shame that I cannot upload an image from my computer which shows current and past flying saucer technology that I scanned from a British newspaper. I've seen the bright magnesium-white ones and so has my wife, I've seen jet-black saucers the size of a mountain range with red bellies and red landers, and I've seen the classic silver frisbees... None of the ones I've seen, even the ones I saw on a scramble alert ever made it into print or news anywhere I know of.
