It's the second time I've seen them from here. The first time I saw them was when I was in the service on a tin can above the Artic circle, that was a little spooky as there were no mountains or landscape then just water and horizon. It sure brought back some memories watching them again.

New hampsta, it was around midnite and as I sat by the fire I thought wow, they are way close.  They did not look like LadyCops picture and I could only see a little from the tops of the mountains but it was cool anyway Me, the fire, and the lights and all. I heated up some cider and slipped in some cinnamon brandy it made my work week worthwhile for some strange reason. A moment of Zen.

I have had a chance to see them a couple of times, when I lived in Webster, which is a northeastern suburb of Rochester.  It is right on the lake.

I did not see them as vividly as the picture LC posted, but they were still a good sight to see.

I've seen them here twice in the last four years - I live a mile north of the city of Detroit. Lots of light pollution, so if I could see them here, I can only imagine what they'd have been like if I'd followed my impulse and jumped in the car and driven away from the lights of the city. Gorgeous!

When we see them here Erinna and is is only ever now and then. It is always a very cold and crisp night. They move and "dance" across the whole sky and be many different colors.........truely fasinates me to watch.
