Restaurant takeout scores big on Super Bowl Sunday

January 18, 2001
Web posted at: 10:19 a.m. EST (1519 GMT)

(CNN) -- You can bolster your odds for a good Super Bowl party by tackling a get-together menu more impressive than what you find at the average barbecue and beer-bash blitz.

Football fans attending your watch party should have a choice of tasty finger foods, hors d'oeuvres, appetizers and cocktails. Small portions are OK, but don't scrimp on flavor -- remember, this is THE big game.

So host your own taste bud showdown as the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens veer south to Tampa, Florida, for Super Bowl XXXV on Sunday, January 28.

Menu ideas:

Avocado Salsa Bruschetta Stuffed Jalapenos Cumin-Coconut Skewered Chicken Mini Beef Filets with Horseradish Cream Beef Meatballs with Parmesan Broiled Shrimp with Lemon and Basil Black Bean Soup with Tomato Salsa Carrot and Cashew Coleslaw

Beef Meatballs with Parmesan

::bshake::  Hi Marie, you have been getting me hungry lately!   I haven't had my parents or inlaws over in a while.  I get spoiled when they are around, cooking great stuff all the time.

Funny thing, since LH asked for Jalapeno Popper recipes, that is all I have been craving.
