I am not exactly sure what the banana has done to earn it's own virtual museum, but this website has some cool old pictures and facts about the banana.

Did you know that the average American eats 26 pounds of bananas every year?  That is about 150 bananas.  Wow.  I am not sure I eat that many.  So, I guess someone else is eating some of my share.
