It has been awhile since I have seen the TV ad , but it seems I remember hearing in  the ad that you could wash them out, and reuse them maybe two or three times.

I have been curious about them, so I am glad that LH started this thread.

My strawberries are starting to turn red and I will try them next week. If the ants and chipmunks stay away from them.

Don't know if you have this option, Librty, but Mom and Sis lopped off about 6 inches of my hair on Sunday and my step-Dad is keeping it to put it around one of his plants that the rabbits love.  He knows his gardening very well.  I have no idea why human hair would keep away some animals, but that's what he said.

I'm gonna have to try that my moptop son is due for a shaving soon. On a side note my Uncle once told me to plant enough for the animals also.

My ex-mother in law told me about the hair thing years ago. I've never planted a garden, so I would'nt know personally, but she says it works for her.

It would seem logical that this approach would just increase the number of critters.  They go where the food is easily accessible.

Here's my report on the green bags.  Lettuce stores beautifully, lasts forever and stays really fresh!  Carrots store nice, they keep their good color and stay crisp!  Cabbage stayed fresh and crisp.  Tomatoes.....okay.  Nothing to write home about.  BANANAS, NOT!!  They turned brown in two days!!  I haven't tried broccoli or cauliflower yet.  I'm sure they would store well.  Nor have I tried fruit!  That's the one I'd be curious about.  I'd like to know if anyone's tried fruit .........
