Don't get me wrong, just the steak itself, grilled just how I like it (strong flame, dark on outside, red in the middle), with some salt and pepper, is great.  This sauce is made from super ripe tomatoes and is sweet and has some spices in it .. it just makes the steak taste sweet is the best way I can describe it.

We know this deal - all subjective crap  :bigwink:

I cooked some steak about 2 days ago

Poured red wine vingar on it along with some fresh garlic on top, then added some filipino soup mix and greek spices and cooked it like that

That was one very spicy steak:giantgrin:

I recently spent an unnatural (conference) week at an establishement which extolled the virtue of the vegetarian lifestyle.  No coffee or booze either. 


Not my thing exactly, but hey, I can do it, in a good cause.   Noblesse oblige and all that.  I worked really hard at disassociation technique, prayer, black magic.  And it worked.  For five hours I remained totally pure.


(Then I discovered that we were not all that far out in the wilds after all. There was a gas station just about within jogging distance and although the coffee was not or best Italian barista standard, it contained caffeine... bottom line.  A bit beyond the gas station was a classic  run down  aussie country pub, where no woman had ever entered probably - but when I crawled in on my hands and knees, tongue hanging out and desperation in my blue eyes, they fetched beer instandly.   Meat was a bit more problematic, but the mountain was home to loads  of nice little unsuspecting goannas - plenty good tucka according to the local abos - and I have to say they fry up nicely on a camp fire). 

But I digress... Frankie, I appreciate that not everyone is cut out to bear my levels of deprivation - enjoy your steak!!!

Now you see I made a chicken pie yesterday and that is what we are supposed to be having tonight.

But NOW after all these posts I want some damn steak! (but not that rare red yucky stuff you all seem to like Ewwwww!)

 

I like mine very very slightly pink (yes I DO mean steak *sigh*). With a side of fries, mushrooms, onions, corn on the cob and fried tomatoes. Occasionally I will have a Diane sauce but usually I just like the taste of the unadulterated meat! *drool*
