I am little of this and a little of that cook as well. Our collection of cookbooks is over 100 by now, some handed down some bought. It fills a couple of bookcases and a drawer or two as well. I read them like a book, mainly to get ideas. I don't very often follow a recipe. I would rather create something on my own. Most of our neighbors were Italians, from the "old country" they used to say. A trip to the pantry and the garden usually yeilded all you needed to create a great meal and that's how I learned to cook.
